Coaching Programme
Our Coaching programme has been running since 2004 under the leadership of Head Coach, David Barr. David has been a member of Duston UTC since the age of 6 and has worked as a self-employed Coach in Kent before returning to his home club and home town. David has built up a good reputation as a local Coach and has developed a good number of minis to County and Regional level (see below).
David is Duston UTC through and through. Not only is he the Head Coach, he also manages to juggle his coaching role with being the Club Manager! He is currently the Northants mini green team captain and works with over 80 players per week from 4 years and upwards. Rarely a day goes by where David is not at Mendip Road.
David says: "I'm a Duston lad and I'm proud to be the Head Coach at this great club. I've been a member ever since I first picked a racket up. Tennis runs in my family and we now have 4 generations wielding a racket round on the courts! Me, my mother Ann, grandfather Geoff and daughter Lucy.
I've always wanted our club to improve its playing standard and progress in terms of the facilities it provides. Over the last 5 years we have begun to do that with the number of good juniors coming through, higher finishes from our adult teams in the town league and modern facilities to be proud of.
What sets Duston apart from a lot of tennis clubs is that close knit family feel. You turn up and there's always someone you know. You become part of the tennis family when you join our club".
David is proud to have coached and helped develop many mini tennis players through to County and Regional level. A lot of the names below have gone on to progress to a high level and many are still members of Duston UTC.

Rates: £20 per hour adults/teens or
£18 per hour minis/juniors or £10 per 30 minutes
Group lessons run alongside school term dates and are booked in blocks of 6/7 weeks at a cost of £5 for members/£6 for non-members.
Group lessons can be accessed up to the first 3 weeks in a block otherwise you will need to book for the next block of coaching. Please call for more information.
